Beginning with a walk along the Holding Space trail, this workshop invited participants to explore the landscape with curiosity and attention. Along the way, natural treasures are gathered before being transformed into cyanotype prints using sunlight itself. These are then held in tension within circular wooden forms to create a unique artwork that reflects each person’s encounter with the landscape. Rather than teaching what to see, the workshop creates the conditions for participants to slow down, notice more deeply, and discover their own relationship with place through an act of co-creation with nature.
As the children from the home-educated support group ‘Kindling’ walked the trail, they were asked to remember what they noticed along the journey and keep those images in their minds so they could reproduce the journey from memory. A map they would produce a few days later would highlight what the children noticed and chose to remember as significant.
